Keith Kaapa Tjangala

Keith Kaapa Tjangala is an Aboriginal Australian artist associated with the Western Desert painting tradition and the influential Papunya Tula Artists movement. A Pintupi man from Central Australia, Keith Kaapa Tjangala comes from a distinguished family of artists and cultural custodians connected to the early development of contemporary Indigenous Australian art. His work reflects a deep knowledge of ancestral Dreaming stories, sacred sites, and ceremonial traditions passed down through generations.

Painting in the characteristic Western Desert style, Tjangala creates intricate compositions using rhythmic dotting, geometric forms, and symbolic imagery to represent Tingari journeys, waterholes, and desert landscapes.
